Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: £168 – £232 per day (paid to scale from day 1)
About the Role
A SEN Academy in Burslem is seeking a committed SEN Teacher to support KS5 learners. This SEN Teacher role focuses on delivering engaging Functional Skills English to students with a range of additional needs.
You will be working within a dedicated SEN setting where personalised learning and inclusive education are central to every lesson.
As a SEN Teacher, you will help learners build confidence in English, communication, and independence skills, preparing them for life beyond education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Functional Skills English as a SEN Teacher to KS5 learners
- Plan and adapt lessons within a SEN environment to meet individual needs
- Support learners in achieving EHCP and Functional Skills targets
- Work closely with support staff within the SEN provision
- Create a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working in SEN or alternative provision settings
- Strong classroom Teacher experience, ideally within KS5 or Functional Skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for a SEN cohort
- A resilient and compassionate approach as a Teacher in SEN education
